Sad Day
Hi all,
Sorry, but this post won't be long or bird-oriented... This weekend, the boat building community (of which I am a minuscule part) lost a leader... Designer Phil Bolger passed May 24, 2009... While that may seem to have little bearing on you... well it does... Nowadays, it's very difficult to set foot in a boat that either wasn't designed by Bolger, or whose designer wasn't influenced by Bolger...
Anyway... An American master has passed, and it's been a somber couple of days...
Talk with you later by the feeders...

Sorry for the loss Alan.
I've included the Wikipedia link for those who wanted to learn more (like me!).

Alan,
Great blog! I have recently installed a backyard feeder, but the birds haven't discovered it in the 2 weeks that it has been there. I also write a blog and invite you to check it out: http://www.snakeadventures.blogspot.com/ and add it to your bloglist if you find it interesting. Will you let me know what you think?
Thanks,
Robby

Hi Robby,
Thanks for your comment...
As for no feeder activity... The problem probably lies in 1 or more of the following 4 areas...
* Inappropriate placement of the feeder(s)... See: http://www.ebirdseed.com/blog/2006/11/hangingmounting_your_new_feede.html
* Feeders that could use a cleaning/freshening: http://www.ebirdseed.com/blog/2007/05/clean_feeders.html
* Be sure to use the right seed: http://www.ebirdseed.com/blog/2007/03/youve_got_the_bird_weve_got_th_1.html
* Time... It takes time for birds to adapt to feeders - especially if there's human activity around.
Checked out your Web site... wow!
